The project is located in the inner suburb of Burwood to the east of Melbourne city. The site is a large existing 4 storey office complex with associated basement/undercroft car parking. The brief was to extend the existing complex utilizing the existing courtyard and landscaped corner of the site. The design solution allows the existing buildings to be linked and the creation of a protected courtyard. A café/restaurant fronts the new courtyard with covered and north facing open spaces for dining. The solution also sought to link the basements allowing easier car access.
The Office Building has approximately 4000m2 of Office space over three levels with 2 levels of basement car parking providing 150 car spaces. The building is an energy efficient, flexible modern office design with a significant presence to Amsterdam Street. The building is positioned on a site with views from the upper floor levels. The office is designed with large open floor plates with amenities and circulation located centrally to maximise flexibility.
