






The 9700m2 site sits within the outer suburbs, in an area undergoing significant change. The context is a low scale residential area surrounded by larger commercial and university buildings. The project consists of 260 residential apartments over a basement containing 300 car spaces. The site falls significantly to the east, requiring a design solution to allow the car parking to occur as a basement when fronting Blackburn Road, but to also fronted with apartments to the rear of the site. The scale of the project also required a solution to allow staged construction as sales of the apartments progressed. The five storey buildings have been arranged as four buildings linked by lift/services cores which can be built separately. The four building are arrange around a central north facing courtyard allowing north light access to all apartments.The apartments range from small single bedroom to larger two bedroom apartments offering a variety of types and sizes.
